The role:

EMFS Group is a provider of NHS/999 frontline operational services operating out of Wrotham, Sevenoaks.

You will be responsible for patients in your care as part of an ambulance crew.

This role requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a barred list check.

Salary:

£15.00 per hour (plus additional enhancements).

Hours:

Full time.
4-day shift rotation (4 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 nights on).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Support clinicians in treating, managing, or referring patients.
  • Convey patients to alternative care pathways based on their condition.
  • Provide home-based care packages to patients, where appropriate.
  • Utilise local care pathways, promoting see and treat initiatives with clinician support.
  • Undertake duties related to major incidents, including off-duty call-outs as per the Major Incident Procedure.

Vehicle and Driving Responsibilities:

  • Drive company vehicles as trained, adhering to emergency vehicle driver training standards, the Highway Code, and relevant legislation.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections following company policies.
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and station cleanliness per local management team's guidelines.

Personal Development/CPD:

  • Complete company-provided statutory and mandatory training.
  • Undertake CPD to maintain fitness for practice.

 

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
  • Company approved emergency driving qualification (IHCD/ Future Qual).
  • Current Freq 4 Qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to delivering excellent patient care.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and initiative.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with a calm and professional approach.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and equality & diversity.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous healthcare experience within the NHS, nursing, or a voluntary organisation is desirable.

*Minor convictions, especially those that occurred some time ago, will be considered on an individual basis. However, convictions involving theft, violence, or drink driving will not be acceptable.
